MESSAGE FROM DAVE

Dear Friends,

Since 2015, I have had the honor of representing you, your family, and most of Kandiyohi County in the State Legislature. Before taking office, I never would have guessed how much I would learn and the amount of work it takes to be an effective State Representative. It is no doubt the toughest job I have ever had, but also one of the most rewarding. My wife, Mary, still supports this life of mine, and my small hospitality company and staff work hard to cover my absence when I am out of town. I am so grateful for their support.

I plan to run for re-election in 2024 and am asking for your vote, and if you can donate to my campaign I would be grateful.

The 2023 legislative session showed the recklessness of Democrats' one-party control in St. Paul. They blew through a $17.5 billion budget surplus, raised taxes by nearly $10 billion, and still managed to plunge the state into a structural budget deficit by increasing spending by 40%.

In addition to reckless spending, Democrats passed major policy bills this year, largely to get the headlines with little regard to the real-world impacts these new policies will have on Minnesotans. Changes in energy policy will result in higher electric bills and more pain at the gas pump. Soft-on-crime policies will put more Minnesotans in harm's way. Local property taxes will rise thanks to dozens of mandates placed on our public schools.

It is clearer than ever that we need balance in St. Paul. One-party control is causing significant damage to Minnesotans' pocketbooks, and reckless policies are making neighborhoods less safe.

I can't do this without your help. Together, we can build our Republican bench and stop the runaway Democrat trifecta that only knows how to spend and regulate. Job creators like me are finding it harder to do business in Minnesota with some of the largest employment mandates in the entire country. We need balance!

During my nine years in office, I have worked to bring needed projects home, like the Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health Hospital that opened in 2020, the Minnesota Poultry Lab in Willmar, completing the final four-lane Highway 23 expansion and the bike trail at Sibley State Park and soon to New London.

The bottom line is the work never ends and the issues are endless. Please share an email if you have thoughts on anything!

Thanks again for the privilege to be your voice in St. Paul over the past 9 years and I would appreciate your support with a donation (linked here) and your vote on November 5th, 2024.

Dave
